Role in Company: Area Manager, Liverpool
My role varies from day to day. Overseeing the operations in the Liverpool office from ensuring that all shifts are filled and to a high standard, ensuring that we meet our KPIs and targets for the month with recruitment and staffing. Managing the team and working with our Regional Manager to develop the Liverpool office team as best we can.
How long have you worked for the company:
I started working for Arc when I was 17 as a worker with my first ever shift at a Rugby club waiting on, Chester Racecourse in the boxes and loads more. I then worked my way up to a supervisor at Chester Racecourse and at the Christmas parties at Tatton Park whilst I was studying at LJMU. When I graduated, I was asked to help in the office with payroll. A few days in the payroll team turned into a temporary job Look after one of our Christmas parties in Liverpool. After a successful Christmas in 2015, my short-term contract was turned in to a fulltime job as an Account Manager. I became the senior account manager at the beginning of 2017 and was made Area Manager of the Liverpool office in January 2018.
What do you love about the company:
I know we all say this but it’s true - every day is different. There is so much variation to the role from staffing, to recruitment, to the general day to day planning of the operations in our head office in Liverpool. I like having the opportunity to travel to other offices across the country. Most of all it’s challenging – there really is never a dull day. I like working with well-known venues across the UK and that we are always expanding, getting bigger and better every year. When I first started we only had two offices, Liverpool and London, and now we have six offices open across the country, with even more opening up in the future. You never know, we could one day be opening offices overseas... (Dibs on New York!)
An interesting fact about yourself:
I used to play a few musical instruments; the flute, drums and electric guitar when I was younger – probably wouldn’t consider joining a band now though…
I served Sir David Attenborough at a large venue for a BBC conference evening whilst working for Arc. His voice was just as good as it sounds on TV in real life!
