At Arc we encourage growth, we like to see people grow and provide them with opportunities to help them on their journey. We are well known for our cultivating internal workforce- 60% of which started off as temp workers. An example of this, is our regional manager Andy, who started working for Arc as a temp when he moved back to Liverpool after completing his degree.
Here’s everything that you need to know about Andy’s journey with Arc!
When did you start working for Arc?
I started in July 2013 as a casual worker. I worked nearly every different type of shift you can think of! From KP to Manager. I joined the office as Christmas support in November 2013 and was offered a full-time position in February 2014.
What made you apply for a job at Arc?
I’d recently moved back to Liverpool and was looking for casual work whilst seeking a graduate job. A lot of my friends had worked at Arc through University and only had good things to say! I grew to really enjoy the work I was doing with Arc and could see huge potential in the company. When I started to help out in the office it was a no-brainer to seek a full-time position.
What does your job involve?
My job, in a nutshell, is to ensure the successful day-to-day running and growth of our four most northern offices, as well as work with the Senior Management Team to achieve our company visions. My role involves a lot of travel, so I know the train timetables back to front now! The four offices I look after, include our newest office and our most established office, so it comes with different challenges which keeps it interesting.
What do you enjoy about your job?
I always say it but the variation – no two days are the same. You never know what new challenge you are going to face from one day to the next. It keeps it interesting! I am also very passionate about the personal development of our fantastic full-time team and using my experience to help them grow is something I enjoy.
What do you like about Arc?
The shared success. We are a close-knit team and we all enjoy seeing each other celebrate success.
Do you have any motivations?
I’m always encouraged by seeing people progress through the company, whether that be our casual workers taking on more responsibilities on their shifts or our full-time workers achieving promotions. I’m motivated to ensure I can help all of my colleagues reach their maximum potential.
What advice would you give to temp workers/people starting a career path?
I would simply say work hard and keep a good attitude – it’s the foundation for success. If you can do that then you’d be surprised at how far you can go.
Any significant moments from your time at Arc?
There’s too many to mention! Helping to deliver a successful Champions League Final in Cardiff is a particular highlight, as well as helping to lay the foundations for our now thriving London office.
What do you see for the future of Arc?
We often joke that we don’t know how far we can go, but it’s true. We have a brilliant team with some of the most dedicated people I’ve ever come across, and if we continue on the path we are currently treading then the future is looking very bright for everyone at Arc.
