Brexit Statement 2020
The UK left the EU on 31st January 2020 and the transition period ends on 31st December 2020. As a largely UK sourced business we do not expect our operations to be immediately impacted. However, we have identified the following areas where we believe our business will be most affected. We are taking actions to minimise the effect of these areas and will continue to monitor the situation, keeping our stakeholders updated with any relevant changes they will need to be aware of.
We have appointed an internal management team to continuously monitor the Brexit situation and implement any business changes necessary to ensure a smooth transition, foresee any changes, and full compliance of new regulations.
Employee Impact
As we have a very diverse workforce, the biggest area of our business that we expect to be affected is with our employees. We have a high number of EU workers registered and are working with these team members to encourage them to apply for the EU settlement scheme. We are aiding the team members with the process and making sure they provide us with any necessary documentation we will need to continue offering them work after June 2021.
We are continuously reviewing our Right to Work checks to ensure we incorporate any changes that may come into effect from 1st July 2021. We are working with our Right to Work verifiers to ensure we have the most compliant and efficient systems in place.
Data Protection
We are performing due diligences by reviewing all associated company partners who may hold or share personal data on behalf of Arc.
As a GDPR compliant company, Arc do not expect the handling of personal data to be affected by Brexit. However, any risks will be identified and remedied. Should the UK move away from the GDPR regulations then we will continue to proactively monitor the situation regarding GDPR and implement any changes necessary.
Supply Chain
As a mainly UK sourced business we do not expect our supply chain for uniform stocks, office supplies or various equipment to be vastly impacted. However, we are continuing to monitor the situation with our suppliers with our primary aim to prepare in order to avoid any disruptions.
Based on current projections on how Brexit may impact UK businesses, we are confident that there are no insurmountable threats that will significantly disrupt Arc. However, the Internal Brexit Management Team will continue to proactively review the situation closely.
