Lockdown One Year On: How Covid19 Affected Arc

Well, 1 year on from lockdown! If you had told us then that we would still be in lockdown a year later we wouldn’t have believed you for a second!

It’s been a challenging 12 months, but we’re so proud of the way our team have adapted to the all the change and overcome every hurdle that’s been thrown our way.

Like many businesses the Covid lockdown gave us a lot of time to reflect and plan. We’re extremely grateful to our all our stakeholders who have made our being here a year later as a stronger business possible.

Here’s a look at how Covid19 affected Arc:

March: Our hardest month in Arc history – the uncertainty and worry was like nothing we’ve ever had to face before – we are thankful that we have the supportive and passionate team we do

April: Redeployed staff into hospitals across the country – our team members showed great flexibility in taking on new roles and helping with the Covid 19 combat

May: Testing centre work begins – allowing us to offer regular work opportunities to our team members

June: Launching of sister company Arc Recruitment – enabling us to make an Arc difference in more sectors, businesses, and lives. We also updated our business plan and began working towards our vision of “shaping flexible work into a better place for all”.

July: Some hospitality and leisure clients allowed to open

Aug: Employee mentor scheme introduced – created a supportive and cross-departmental community within our full-time team

Sept: Moved into our new head office in Liverpool – built great relationships with local suppliers and fellow businesses in the Bold Street community

Oct: Our retail work increased, and we became a fully 24/7 operation – allowing us to assist clients, candidates and team members at any time of the day

Nov: New employees and advisors – 2 new full-time hires: 1) Head of Operations for Arc Hospitality and 2) People, Welfare and Compliance Manager for both businesses, 2 external advisors added to our team: 1) Sustainability Advisor who sits on the board 2) Business Development Advisor. This will strengthen our team, so we are ready to support all stakeholders in 2021 and beyond

Dec: Continued tireless work carried out by the team on the frontline. Behind the scenes preparation is compiled to see what 2021 brings us!

January: Employability scheme introduced and introduction of Sustainability Minimum Standards

February: A roadmap is announced and we begin preparing for the return of events!
